Acing the ACT
Catalyst’s ACT prep program, Acing the ACT, teaches students strategies for all aspects of the ACT, including the optional essay. Students who have not taken the ACT before learn the key differences between the SAT and ACT, so they don’t make the mistake of using strategies that may be effective for the SAT but would be disadvantageous for the ACT.
Special emphasis is placed on pacing; the ACT, even more so than the SAT, requires students to move swiftly in order to complete the test in the allotted time. (ACT test-takers have just 60 minutes to complete 60 math questions and 35 minutes to complete 40 reading questions.)
Acing the ACT is a private, in-home course consisting of 12 to 18 ninety-minute lessons, depending on the academic goals of the student.
